My favorite day of the week/month/year/decade is The Day A New Paul McCartney Album Comes Out. Since 1978 (London Town), I have not missed a release! For me, nothing makes me happier then new McCartney music!

I have just listened to three tracks off the new Fireman album ”Electric Arguments”. The Fireman, for those who don’t know, is actually Paul McCartney and Youth (who also worked on the excellent Verve album ”Urban Hymns“). The duo released two cds in the 90s (Strawberry Ocean Ships Forest and Rushes–both were sort of trance/dance mixes). But this new one is totally different! Recognizably McCartney-esque, his trademark melody manages to worm its way into this amazing stew of music. My favorite track so far is “Sing the Changes”. Driven by Paul’s thundering bass playing, the song pounds its way through an ethereal melody with Paul’s voice weaving in and out. Love it!

I cannot wait!
